The Last Post...

that's it folks...
I'm gone.

For lots of reasons I've
had enough.

Toodle-pip and thank you
to all of those who have followed
and commented.  I really do appreciate
your taking time out to share your thoughts.

The spam merchants...
Why did they target my most painful
blog post?
For months, every day I've had to
check and delete them.
Added to which...
After the events in the news
over the last few days,
I've decided I don't want to be part of the
cyber means of communication.

    1. Don't be sorry for me Carol. Please will you wing me an email because I've just gone to look for your email address and can't seem to work out which one is you. I want to ask you how I go about saving my blog in hard copy, in order for my grandchildren to see what a daft tart I am. They sure as hell aren't interested now... perhaps when I'm dead and gone?

  2. What a shame. Are you sure? There are steps you can take to stop them you know.

    1. I 'think' I'm sure... trouble is Helsie, I miss it; even though of late, I feel my joie de vivre has evaporated with the weight of awfulness that goes on in the world. My silliness, moans and groans seem puerile in comparison.

    1. Don't worry about not commenting, I sort of know you're there, which is the main thing... thank you.

  4. I think you might have the right idea Linda - all "social media" is a bit odd. Have a happy real life with your lovely chap!

  5. So sorry to hear you are leaving the blogosphere Lettice. It has been nice knowing you and if you decide to return to the fold please let me know via a comment in my blog. It may sound a funny thing to say but I have enjoyed your attitude.
    Best wishes, Neil (YP)

    1. OOoh Mr YP, you made me go all teary. And to think I always had it in my head, my comments, dodgy grammar/punctuation, daftness, scant regard for the things you hold dear, somehow made you crabby! The good part of blogging pals I suppose is the fact that we are such a mixed bunch.

  6. Oh Linda, I will miss you terribly but do understand. I have spam on my blog, just on one particular post I get one every couple of weeks and just delete it as I can not get rid of it. I will e.mail you if that is okay. Take care, keep in touch. Jayne

    1. Of course you can email me Jayne. I do delete the spam, most days. The trouble is, over the past year I've sensed the joy I took in all things has dried up. Could be I'm becoming even more of a grumpy old lass... I hope not!

  7. Didn't know what to say at the time Linda so thought it best not to say anything, I came back again just to check if you're here, but it's still all quiet.
Let me just offer that the world is crap at the moment, has been for some time, sometimes I wonder if we'd all be better off without men / religion, and a lot of us feel very in the hands of a bunch of fools who wouldn't know common sense if it bit them. Some times there are things we can do to help or change things, sometimes there's very little we can do, but never underestimate how much the little things we do actually help other people. Your acerbic, funny and to you, pointless ramblings, are actually one of those small things that help lots of people cope with a feeling of not being in control of what's going on. Have a break, several bottles of wine and bars of chocolate and when something tickles your fancy come back, please. I don't have that thing where you have to put in a number or word before leaving a comment on my blog, but any comments on blogger always first come to my email box where it says the name of who is sending it, if it says 'anonymous' I don't even open it, it's sent straight into the bin... you know who your friends and readers are.
Lot of us have big gaps in between posts, and often wonder why we do it at all, we all have a life to deal with, whether it's only going to the supermarket, well somebody has to put food in the fridge, but it's nice to know there's others out there. Chins up cock xxx

    1. What a lovely comment woolly dog... thank you. I am very out of sorts with this whole cyber-world, whether I ever come round, who knows? Although I did have a slight stirring the other day, so perhaps all is not lost! I really did appreciate what you said about my oft-times mad flights of fancy.
